About Us

Big Ideas. Good Coffee. Deep Change.

From Ideas to Impact

When Bronwyn tuned into a podcast hosted by Lili-Ann, she didn’t expect it would lead to a business partnership. But the ideas shared struck a deep chord—spanning sustainability, pedagogy, and purpose.

They met face to face soon after, and over good coffee and a napkin full of scribbles, the first seeds of the Project Sustainability Collective were planted.

That initial moment of shared vision was the beginning of something much bigger—refined over months of Zoom calls, critical reflection, and collaborative design.

From day one, our work has been about turning big ideas into lasting change—supporting early childhood education and care (ECEC) services to embed sustainability in ways that are authentic, context-driven, and transformative.

Our Mission

We empower ECEC services to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose—embedding sustainability through place-connected practice, project-based learning, and collaborative professional development that aligns with:

  • EYLF 2.0 Principles & Outcomes

  • National Quality Standards (NQS)

  • Exceeding Themes

  • and most importantly, your local community context.

We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all program. We walk alongside leaders and teams to build shared vision, strengthen capacity, and create meaningful, sustained impact.

Why Sustainability?

Because early childhood is where lifelong values are formed.
We believe sustainability is not a “theme” or an “add-on,” but a vital foundation for teaching, leadership, and community engagement.

Our framework expands sustainability beyond environmental concerns to include five interconnected domains:

🌿 Environment – Connection to nature and ecological systems
🤝 Society & Community – Inclusion, equity & respectful relationships
💰 Economy – Fairness, access, and ethical resource use
🌏 Culture – Valuing diversity and honouring ways of being and
belonging
🧭 Leadership & Governance – Ethical decision-making, systems
thinking, and children’s participation

When these domains work together, sustainability becomes a whole-of-service, whole-of-community practice.

Why Project-Based & Place-Connected Learning?

Because children’s curiosity is the perfect catalyst for change.

Our approach helps educators turn children’s questions into real-world investigations, co-created, collaborative, and connected to place.

These aren’t “activities” but deep, sustained projects that connect to the land, community, and culture children are part of.

By grounding sustainability in local context, we make learning relevant, ethical, and enduring—for children, educators, and families alike.
